Roybal Centers for translational intervention development research for Alzheimers Disease and Alzheimers Disease related dementias care provider support. The purpose of the Roybal Centers is to develop behavioral interventions that improve the health, well-being and/or capacity of individuals and/or systems that provide care to persons with AD-ADRD. Roybal Centers will conduct Stage 0 through IV pilot studies in accordance with the multidirectional, translational NIH Stage Model, to produce potent and implementable principle-driven behavioral interventions.

Edward R. Roybal Coordinating Center (R24 - Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

Fri, 2023-03-03 02:24
Funding Opportunity RFA-AG-24-008 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. This FOA invites applications from qualified institutions to create a Roybal Center Coordinating Center (CC), serving the needs of the Roybal Centers for Translational Research on Aging program as well as the Roybal Centers for Translational Research on Dementia Care Provider Support program. The Roybal Coordinating Center will serve as a hub for the Roybal Center grant program. Roybal Center programs conduct translational in the behavioral and social sciences of aging, structured in accordance with the NIH Stage Model. Roybal Center program resources are intended for pilot and preliminary translational, multi-directional research at Stages 0 through IV of the behavioral intervention development pipeline with the goal of creating principle-driven interventions that improve the lives of mid-life and older people and the capacity of institutions to adapt to societal aging. The Roybal Coordinating Center will facilitate and coordinate trans-Roybal activities. The Center will work closely with the NIA Program Officer and, in coordination with all Roybal sites, will be responsive to requests generated by key Roybal site personnel, NIA, NIH, the scientific community, and the general public.

Genomic Community Resources (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

Wed, 2023-03-01 10:22
Funding Opportunity PAR-23-124 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this initiative is to facilitate genomic research and to disseminate its products to the broader biomedical research community. NHGRI supports both new and existing genomic resources of demonstrated broad value to the research community. Awards under this FOA will support the development and distribution of genomic resources that will be valuable for both basic and clinical genomics research. Such resources include, but are not limited to, those that support: Genomic informatics toolsets, such as biomedical ontologies and analysis toolsets. Comprehensive identification and collections of genomic features, such as functional genomic elements and genetic assay results. Genomic community building efforts, such as standards development. Sample repositories for genomic studies, such as cell line repositories for high-value samples.

Translational Research in Maternal and Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics (R21 Clinical Trial Optional)

Wed, 2023-03-01 06:09
Funding Opportunity PAR-23-131 from the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts. The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to support translational and clinical research to (1) advance precision medicine in pregnant persons, lactating persons, and children through the development of novel tools, models, and other technologies that could have a direct clinical or health impact; (2) enhance the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of drug action, including the role of pediatric ontogeny and the dynamic physiological changes that occur during pregnancy and lactation; and (3) discover and develop novel therapeutics or enhance the usage of existing drugs or drug repurposing for safer and more effective medications in pregnant and lactating persons, neonates, and children. The overall goal is to improve safe and effective precision therapeutics for pregnant and lactating persons, fetuses, neonates, and children, including those with disabilities.
